Straight out of the Tauernhof and onto the piste!
Take advantage of the perfect location of our ski hotel on the edge of Grossarl and right in the middle of the ski area. The bottom station of the Grossarl lift is just a stone’s throw away from the hotel, and the fast Panorama lift takes you up into the wonderful family ski area of Grossarltal-Dorfgastein.
The Grossarl-Dorfgastein ski area is home to over 80 km of pistes for skiing, carving, and snowboarding pleasure.
There are 20 modern lifts to take you up to your best pistes, simply choose your favourite from the range of all levels of difficulty. The expansive slopes give you long, wide pistes with plenty of space. Skiers, carvers, and snowboarders can share the perfectly prepared pistes together, with no problems at all.
The Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area has made something of a name for itself when it comes to how well its pistes are maintained, and its snowmaking facilities, and has even won several awards in this area. So, despite the high snow sureness of Salzburger Land, if there is a lack of the natural white stuff from the sky, then the latest in snowmaking technology ensures that 90% of all our runs are covered by artificial snowmaking facilities, using water with no additives, and ensuring perfect piste conditions from December through to April.
All 3-hour lift passes, half day passes, and day passes are valid in the entire Skischaukel Grossarltal-Dorfgastein region.
“Cosy mountain huts, atmospheric snow bars, and relaxing sun terraces are ideal places for sun worshippers and connoisseurs to meet. There is dancing, laughing, and celebrating until late into the night at après ski in Grossarl; skiing holidays in the Grossarltal region are all about fun and pleasure!”

Both of these ski schools offer tuition exclusively from qualified ski and snowboard instructors, with compulsory regular in-service training. The latest teaching methods are employed especially when it comes to children’s ski courses. Learning in a playful and yet effective way, the children can soon make their first turns in the snow, or can build on what they have already learned.
For adults, as well as normal ski courses, there are courses in snowboarding, carving, and Telemark skiing. Advanced skiers can also take part in courses in the fun park, mogul skiing, and powder skiing.
