Valley cycle route for leisure bikers
The 8 km valley cycle route from Grossarl to the National Park village of Hüttschlag is lovely for leisurely bike rides. After a short section along the road, the cycle route continues into the traffic-free Hüttschlag head of the valley and on to the picturesque Ötzlsee lake (approximately 8 km). So, get on your bike, and enjoy the unspoiled nature of the Grossarl Valley and take a bit of Salzburg back home with you. The Grossarl Valley cycleway: a wonderful biking experience for all ages.
In the Grossarltal region, you can choose from 16 marked mountain bike routes with a total length of over 140 km. Enjoy biking at a sedate pace through the Grossarltal region, or up the pace and head off into the mountains on the edge of the Hohe Tauern on a variety of mountain biking routes of varying difficulties.

For all those who would like to experience a mountain bike ride up to the Alpine huts in the Grossarltal region in a group, we offer 2 guided mountain bike tours per day in summer, from Monday to Saturday. The rides are accompanied by member of staff from the Tauernhof as your mountain bike guide. Participation for Tauernhof guests is free of charge; further information together with tour descriptions is available from reception or by clicking on the relevant day of the week.

Spare yourself the efforts of riding up the mountain to the start of the new single trail by simply taking the 8-seater Hochbrand gondola just behind the Vitalhotel Tauernhof.
The Flow mountain bike single trail is 3.3 km long and has a vertical height difference of 432 m, promising absolute biking pleasure with the beauty of nature all around:
From the top station of the Hochbrand lift, the route takes you through woodland at the start, past a reservoir by the midstation, then into the forest and over mountain meadows. To finish, you pass a waterfall, complete with selfie photo point, before arriving at the bottom station of the Hochbrand lift and the Tauernhof is just a few hundred metres further on.
